Job Description:
  1. Irrigation Scheduling & Planning: Prepare daily and weekly irrigation run plans for sugarcane blocks using crop stage, soil moisture, rainfall, ET demand, pump availability, and agronomist recommendations.
  2. Operations & Monitoring: Operate and monitor center pivots for travel speed, application depth, pressure, end-gun performance, nozzle condition, alignment, wheel tracking, and shutdown faults.
  3. Infrastructure & System Supervision: Supervise pump stations, filtration systems, fertigation units, generators/electrical supply, mainlines, laterals, valves, hydrants, air valves, and flow/pressure instruments.
  4. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose low pressure, poor uniformity, blocked filters/nozzles, pipe bursts, cavitation, electrical trips, gearbox failure, tower misalignment, and excessive pivot downtime.
  5. Asset & Maintenance Management: Develop preventive maintenance schedules and critical spares lists for pivots, pumps, motors, gearboxes, control boxes, nozzles, regulators, cables, valves, and meters.
  6. Design Review & Expansion: Review irrigation layouts, BOQs, pump curves, hydraulic assumptions, pipe routes, pivot designs, installation methods, and commissioning procedures for new blocks.
  7. Quality Assurance & Handover: Coordinate flushing, pressure checks, pump trials, pivot commissioning, uniformity checks, as-built records, and technical handover to farm operations.
  8. HSE Compliance & Training: Enforce strict safety discipline and train operators on safe start-up/shutdown, filter cleaning, fertigation precautions, lock-out/tag-out, and emergency response around moving pivots, pressurized systems, and electricity.
  9. Reporting & Controls: Maintain precise logs tracking water-use, pump-hours, fuel/energy, maintenance, downtime, repair costs, spares, and field performance for management reporting.
