Job Description:
  1. Road Planning & Prioritization: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly road works plans that support land development, pivot access, factory construction, cane haulage, security patrols, and all-weather site logistics.
  2. Road Construction & Rehabilitation: Supervise clearing, setting out, formation, subgrade preparation, gravel/murram placement, watering, grading, compaction, and finishing of farm and factory roads.
  3. Drainage & Flood Protection: Deliver mitre drains, side drains, culverts, drifts, scour protection, and erosion-control works to reduce washaways during rainy periods and protect field blocks and factory areas.
  4. Heavy-Traffic Interfaces: Coordinate Road works around weighbridge approaches, workshops, fuel stations, cane yards, parking areas, loading zones, and construction laydown areas.
  5. Subcontractor & Plant Control: Allocate work fronts, verify equipment and labor resources, track grader/roller/dozer/truck utilization, measure outputs, and correct poor productivity or workmanship promptly.
  6. Quality Assurance: Check levels, camber/crossfall, road width, layer thickness, moisture conditioning, compaction, material suitability, and test results (CBR, MDD/OMC) before acceptance or payment certification.
  7. HSE & Traffic Management: Enforce safe movement of heavy plant, haulage trucks, staff vehicles, and pedestrians; implement signage, speed control, dust control, toolbox talks, and emergency access planning.
  8. Reporting & Project Controls: Maintain daily site diaries, measurement sheets, material delivery records, fuel-use summaries, photos, issue logs, progress quantities, cost risks, and completion handover records.
